nutbutter

Many of you have asked, ” how do i make nut butter?”  Here is a 10 minute video, showing the whole process on how to do it. Unedited, whole experience. I explain the process, questions and challenges people often have in the process, also a few fun tricks.

As I mention in the video, this is the basic idea for how to make any nut butter, peanut, almond, cashew, etc. Even sunflower seed butter is done with the same process. If you’re feeling frisky you can blend nuts, just know that certain nuts like pecans and walnuts may take more time to make because of the amount of fats in them. I have made a very tasty cashew pecan that was delicious and a pecan walnut that was more difficult to make, because of two higher fat nuts took awhile to get to a good consistency.   Also, once you master the process, feel free to add flavors! I regularly make almond butter and add cinnamon, coriander, ginger and cardamom to make a very tasty, almost graham like flavored butter, yum! The world is your oyster, be as creative as you want.  I have mixed nuts and seeds together in various combinations to make fun blends as well.

Another idea that a wonderful friend gave me, was buy raw sunflower seeds, then put them in a pan, and toast them with out oil, then add that to the food processor and follow the same steps.

A note that I didn’t mention in the video: roasted nuts take about 5 minutes to make.  Raw nuts, like almonds for example, take upwards of 20 minutes to make, same process, just a lot longer in time. Don’t touch it, just let it go. Seriously with that one, push play and go away for 20 minutes and come back. The food processor will be hot, and steam will be coming out of the container, and its worth it.
